NEN enables stakeholders to meet up en ensures that they reach concensus on the subject. NEN is an intermediary between Standardization and certification. The main goal is harmonization of quality assessment to be able to assess the quality of processes, services, products and people in the different sectors in the same way. Optimal transparency of quality can be achieved through certification. NEN, together with stakeholders, develops suitable standards and certification schemes for this.
NEN does not certify, but acts as an independent manager to set up and supervise certification schemes. NEN facilitates the development of certification schemes and takes care of their management as soon as it is ready and is applied in practice to carry out certification audits.
