Hub Creations supports organisations in developing their safety culture, shared practices, leadership and personal accountability. Our approach ensures a lasting impact. As a knowledge partner, we bring together scientific insights, practical experience and the requirements of the SCL. We identify patterns, structures and behaviours and translate these into concrete steps, processes and agreements that enhance safety. Together, we ensure that working safely becomes a priority. We have been associated with the SCL as a knowledge partner from the very beginning and have ten years’ experience with the standard. We have compiled our knowledge and expertise in various books, includingClimbing the Safety Ladder Together, Safety Teams, Feeling safe, being safe, Understanding and developing safety and culture andHow do you create a psychologically safe environment? In addition, we offer an app for assessing safety culture, a range of micro-learning modules, a quiz module with 3,000 questions, and a podcast channel featuring over 250 episodes packed with best practices. We look beyond the standard alone
An organisation does not move up the ladder simply by preparing for an audit and implementing a few isolated measures. The real question is how safety is embedded in decision-making, in the way people interact, in exemplary behaviour, in learning from mistakes and in the way work is organised. That is where our strength lies. We highlight the patterns, structures and behaviours that either reinforce or undermine the safety culture. We then translate these insights into concrete steps, processes, learning interventions and agreements that help to foster sustainable development.

We take a social science approach to safety and culture. Hub Creations was founded by Orly Polak, one of the Netherlands’ leading experts in the field of safety culture, behaviour and leadership. Drawing on occupational health and safety and socio-cultural research, we develop interventions that help organisations to bring about real change in behaviour and practice. We regard learning as a powerful intervention in this context. This approach is reflected across our entire range of services: research, assessments, apps, books, micro-learning modules, serious games, cultural programmes and communication interventions. 

What organisations can expect from us 
We carry out SCL assessments, quantitative and qualitative safety culture assessments, and quick scans. We conduct interviews, behavioural observations and cultural analyses to understand how safety actually works within an organisation. We provide reports and advice that guide development, assurance and behavioural change. 

We also support organisations through workshops and learning programmes on topics directly related to the Safety Culture Ladder and the quality of collaboration. These include team dynamics, influencing behaviour, safe leadership, collaboration between client and contractor, the duty to verify, behavioural audits, working towards step 3 or 4, pilot audits, operational excellence, change management and the training of internal auditors. 

We have built up our own learning and development infrastructure centred on safety
The Hub is a safety app designed for continuous learning and development, featuring personalised content, assessments, e-learning modules, quizzes, benchmarks, high scores and podcasts. This content is supported by workshops, training courses, coaching and advice. We offer a range of packages designed to help you progress to a specific level. 

For organisations wishing to make safety tangible and engaging, we develop and host Safety Days, interactive activities and the Safety Keet
The Safety Keet is a mobile experience centre that focuses on interactive learning and hands-on experiences. Through games, VR and interactive modules, we develop safety awareness and behaviour in a way that actively engages people and leaves a lasting impression. For organisations, this means that safety becomes visible, tangible and memorable in practice. 

We also develop communication campaigns that raise awareness and keep safety at the forefront
Within our approach, communication is an integral part of behavioural change, norm-setting and reinforcement. Drawing on insights from behavioural psychology, we develop and produce communication materials. We design communication concepts, nudges, visual narratives and cultural programmes that make safety visible and reinforce desired behaviour. In this way, we embed safety in language, imagery and everyday practice.
